Rider is one of my favourite unit types in the game. 2APs get you a very fast unit, being able to cover 500p in good going, with a +3 in combat against all unit types. Like all mounted units they are destroyed if they loose whilst in bad going, but otherwise they recoil. This makes them a bit more durable then knight, as they are more likely to recoil.
I chose to make these a ‘bad guys only’ choice as they fitted in nicely with their character of fighting in the rough, in stark contrast to the good guys who favour the open ground more. The goblin wolf riders from MB Games’ Battlemasters provided the perfect models for these.
